Well, we can’t deny it anymore. Fall is coming. September means that the weather gets cooler, the trees start to change and we start to fear the dreaded w-word.
But just because the season that comes after fall is terrible, doesn’t mean we should shun fall altogether.
To its credit, it has a lot of great things going for it. Here are a few awesome events happening in Chicago this September to get you in a better mood about Fall:
September 1st, Mag Mile. If you’re going back to school (or even if you’re not) this is a great festival to check out. There will be outdoor shops, culinary events, concerts and a run in Grant Park. Expect there to be some great deals on fall essentials!
Windy City Wine Festival
September 10-12th, W. Adams & Dearborn, FREE until 9pm. Yes, you read right, FREE. With German music, bratwurst, sauerkraut, chicken, pretzels, apple strudel and of course, beer, this event is a no-brainer to close out your summer.
Lakeview East Art Festival
September 13-14th, Broadway Ave. A festival that is right outside the door to many of our buildings. Features over 150 artists selling paintings, sculptures, photography, furniture and jewelry. Also featuring music and lot of food.
Lakeview Taco Fest
September 20-21st, Southport Ave. Another festival that isn’t far from many of our buildings. With live music, arts and crafts and of course, TACOS. You’re even able to vote for the best taco. Grab a beer or a margarita and embrace the last of the warm weather.
September 26-28th, Millennium Park. Arguably one of the best food festivals in Chicago. With over 100 chefs, cooking demonstrations, beer and food pavilions, and wine tastings, you can be sure that spending a day in Millennium Park has never tasted so good.
Free Museum Day
September 27th. There are 37 museums in Illinois participating in Museum Day Live which is an event put on by Smithsonian Magazine. Just go online to their website to reserve a ticket for two and spend the day museum hopping for FREE. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/
