Parade Time and Route
The Downtown Chicago Parade begins at 12:00 noon, Saturday March 12th. The Parade will be broadcast LIVE this year by ABC-Channel 7! The parade starts at Balbo and Columbus. The parade units will proceed north on Columbus Drive and the viewing stand will be located in front of Buckingham Fountain.
Dyeing the Chicago River
Scheduled for 9:00 am, Saturday March 12, 2016 the dyeing can be best viewed from the East side of the Michigan Avenue bridge, the West side of the Columbus Drive bridge or upper and lower Wacker Drive between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive.
South Side Irish Parade
The city’s southernmost Irish celebration returns with another liquor-less procession along Western Avenue between 103rd and 115th street. Starting at 11:30a.m.

Burn some calories before heading downtown for the parade at the Leprechaun Leap, formerly known as the St. Paddy’s Day 5K and 8K Run, which benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Starting through Lincoln Park, the race features plenty of green attire as well as a seasonal costume contest. Starts at 9:30a.m.
