PPM Residents Prove — Once AGAIN! — That They Are Some of Chicago’s Most Generous Residents

[Pardon us for a moment while we brag about our residents…]
We’ve said before and now we are saying it again: PPM has some of Chicago’s most generous residents!
Whenever there is a need, we’ve rallied our residents to respond and they have in incredible ways in 2012!
First, the clothing drives we’ve held for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. We’ve shared the need and our residents opened their hearts and cleaned out their closets for this great cause. Every single article of clothing donated went to help others — either locally through the resale of clothing at Savers’ or by being donated to worth causes in Chicago’s South side, or going to help people in Africa!
Across the multiple clothing drives PPM hosted this year, our residents donated over 10 TONS — yes, TONS — of clothing to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. The Epilepsy Foundation recognized us with their Hero Award for Outstanding Community Outreach at their annual Heroes Dinner in early November. And, Dan McDonough, our Marketing Director was invited to join their Board of Directors in 2013 as a representative of all of our generous residents.
In January, we hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross, providing much-needed donations of life saving blood. We set an ambitious goal that we were honestly a bit nervous about and our residents responded. So much so that we far exceeded our goal, surprising all of us!
And, most recently, we held our annual food drive for the Lakeview Pantry. It’s amazing to think that there are families in dire need right in our own neighborhood, and the Lakeview Pantry provides them with the resources they need to feed their families. Donation bins were placed in all of our leasing offices and in the lobbies of all of our buildings and we completely filled a U-Haul with the donations our residents made! The Lakeview Pantry told us that our single donation each year represents the largest donation they receive every year! And, food donated last week will be on the tables of families in our community on Christmas Day!
From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank our residents enough for their generosity. You are all some of the most generous residents in Chicago and while PPM may receive praise for the work we do in our community, but it’s truly you, our residents, that are the heroes!
We wish you all the best for the holidays and 2013!
