Neighborhood Restaurant Review – Sabor Cuban in Lakeview

Sabor Cuban opened @ 3132 N. Broadway opened in early September and we could not wait to try it!
Our Neighborhood Restaurant Reviewers, who are always in search of the best deals in Chicago, made haste to try out what’s been voted some of the most authentic Cuban Food in Chicago.
Sabor is Spanish for flavor – and it DEFINITELY lives up to its name! We went in the late afternoon to beat the lunch rush and as first-timers, asked their recommendations for what we should try.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and helped steer us in the right direction.

To start, we tried the Cuban Platter. It was an awesome assortment that included super flavorful empanadas, crispy tostones, a delicious Cuban Tamal and delicious papa rellenas. There was not a crumb left on the plate!

Next we all had sandwiches all were bursting with flavor and were incredible values – all either $7 or $8 and are served with French fries. We ordered:
The Cuban:

The Ropa Vieja:

The Jibarito:

All were meaty, crispy, delicious, flavorful… we really ran out of adjectives to describe how much we loved them. We finished with strong flavorful Cuban Coffee and assorted delicious warm pastelitos – perfect way to finish an amazing lunch!

To sum up we found Sabor authentic, delicious and affordable – we will be back!
