4 Low-Calorie Cocktails For Your Next Apartment Party

Chicago Apartments, Healthy Cocktails

Almost everyone loves cocktails. The calories, however, are a different story. Like so many great things in life, cocktails come with consequences, and we’re not just talking about the hangovers. Many of the best tasting cocktails are crammed with calories and sugar. Luckily, there are some ways to enjoy your favorite cocktails without throwing your health goals out the window. Here are four low-calorie cocktails to serve at your next apartment party.

Chicago Apartments, Healthy Cocktails, La Croix Margarita

Low-Calorie Cocktails

LaCroix Margarita

Surprised to see a margarita on this list? This version may not taste exactly like the classic Mexican beverage, but it’s still delicious and will hit the spot when you have a craving for the sugary original.

1 can Lime LaCroix (or other sparkling water)
2 ounces tequila
1-ounce lime juice

Combine tequila and lime juice in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour LaCroix into a tall glass with ice. Pour mixture into the glass. Stir well and serve.

Moscow Mule

The beloved Moscow Mule can be made healthier with a few simple swaps of key ingredients. Instead of standard ginger beer, opt for diet ginger beer instead. Similarly, use stevia instead of sugar for a lower-calorie, delicious holiday drink.

2 ounces vodka
1.5-ounce lime juice
1 cup diet ginger beer
1/2 cup ice cubes
Fresh lime wedge

Pour vodka and lime juice into a mug (preferably copper, but any mug will do just fine). Add ice and diet ginger beet to the mug and stir well. Garnish with fresh lime wedge.

Chicago Apartments, Healthy Cocktails, Vodka Soda

Low-Calorie Cocktails

Vodka Soda With A Splash

Vodka sodas have a bad rep. Sure, they’re a little basic. But the truth is, they’re one of the healthiest low-calorie cocktails available. They’re made even better when combined with a splash of fruit juice, such as grapefruit or cranberry. You’ll love the added sweetness without having to commit to the full-calorie juice version of the drink. You can also cut up some fruit slices, or even a cucumber, to add some fresh flavors to the drink.

2 ounces vodka
6 ounces soda water
Splash of juice (your choice, but we recommend grapefruit!)

Pour vodka and soda water into a tall glass with ice. Add a splash of your preferred juice and any additional fruit pieces you wish to include. Stir well and serve.

Chicago Apartments, Healthy Cocktails, Rum & Coke

Low-Calorie Cocktails

Rum & Diet Coke With Lemon

Rum and coke is a classic cocktail loved by many, but it’s full of sugar and calories. Swap the Coke for Diet Coke and add a splash of lemon juice for a low-calorie, delicious alternative to the original.

2 ounces rum
6 ounces Diet Coke
Splash of lemon juice
Lemon wedge

Combine rum and coke in a glass with ice. Pour in a splash of lemon juice. Stir well and serve with a lemon wedge garnish.
