553 W. Diversey
11:00 – 10:00 7 days a week
We finally made it to the newly opened Jinya Ramen Bar on Diversey (down the street from 2756 N. Pine Grove) and we were delightfully surprised! We loved the ambiance – open, sunny and bright with a very modern décor! Our server welcomed us immediately and invited us to sit wherever we wanted – he was very attentive!
This was our first venture into ramen and our server was very accommodating and answered all of our questions and told us what to expect. We were so hungry we immediately ordered the Crispy Chicken Appetizer – tender inside, crunchy outside – PERFECT! On to the main course – everything comes in one gorgeous over-sized steaming bowl – we couldn’t wait to dig in – here is what we had.
Spicy Chicken Ramen
Loved the rich flavorful spicy broth, the chick was super tender – oval a very satisfying complex bowl of goodness!
Pork was simply delicious – loved the thinner noodles – all the flavors work so well together – loved the green onion and seasoned egg!
Cha Cha Cha Ramen
Pork chashu, bean sprouts, onion, green onion, fish powder, Korean powder, seasoned egg, and thick noodles – super tasty!
To sum up – great ambiance, huge portions, outstanding complex flavors – we will be back – especially when they get their liquor license! Make sure to check us out on Pinterest for more Chicago restaurant ideas!
