PPM loves partnering with organizations that are making an impact around the city of Chicago and one we love supporting is the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.
This year alone, PPM residents have donated over 12 TONS — yes, 12 ! — of clothing to benefit the over 130,000 people in Chicagoland impacted by epilepsy. In fact, PPM will be the recipient of the Hero Award for Exceptional Community Outreach at the Epilepsy Foundation’s Heroes Night in November!
We believe PPM residents are some of the most generous people in Chicago and we’re giving you one more chance to prove it!
Now through November 5, we are collecting donations of used clothing at:
- 500 W Belmont
- 2630 N Hampden
- 3130 N Lake Shore Dr
You can donate apparel of all types, shoes, belts, bags, purses, linens and towels in the bins located in your foyer.
Your donations will go to Savers Thrift Stores which will in turn provide funding for counseling, education, and advocacy programs for people impacted by Epilepsy. Unsold items will be packaged and distributed to not-for-profit organizations in Africa. So, everything you donate, in whatever shape or condition, will go to help others both here in Chicago and in Africa!
If you do not live in one of the buildings with collection bins but would like to make a donation, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll arrange for someone to pick-up your donations!
To those of you who have already participated in previous clothing drives — thank you, you are truly heroes! To everyone else — take this opportunity to clean out your closets, organize your apartment, and help benefit a great cause!
