The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping, and women all over Chicago are asking themselves the same question, “What to wear?” Luckily we are blessed to live in a city with endless shopping options. From high-end boutiques to amazing vintage thrift, Chicago has it all.
When I think of the best area in Chicago to pick up pieces for my fall wardrobe, Chicago’s Gold Coast is at the top of the list. This fashion forward neighborhood has everything a woman needs to put together an amazing fall ensemble.
Below are a few of the many spectacular Gold Coast shops that are worth taking the time to browse through.
1.) Sofia (72 East Oak Street) – This trendy Gold Coast boutique offers hand picked pieces from hundreds of designers, including many that are well-known, some up and coming, and a ton of vintage pieces. For something one of a kind, this is the place to go.
2.) The Denim Lounge (43 East Oak Street) – This blink and you’ve missed it store, housed in the basement of the Madison and Friends children’s boutique, is a mecca for designer jeans. From Seven For All Mankind to Citizen and many others, this place is your one stop fall jean shop.
3.) Nordstrom Rack (101 East Chicago Ave.) – For the budget conscious, Nordstrom Rack is perfect for stocking up on sweaters, dresses, shoes, accessories and even jewelry. You may have to search through racks of stuff, but if you look hard enough you will find exactly what you need at an affordable price.
