Calling All the Daredevils! Share The Craziest Thing You’ve Ever Done [and Win!].

A record-breaking 8 million people tuned in to YouTube on Sunday to witness “one small step for man, and one giant [24 mile!] leap for mankind” as Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartne broke the speed of sound. In what will probably be defined as the Millennial’s version of a man walking on the moon, Felix took one step off of a ledge the size of skateboard perched on the edge of space and dove into the record books with his death-defying jump.
Is he crazy? Probably. Was this amazing? Absolutely? And what does this mean for our world? Well, much like the moon landing decades ago, this new feat will undoubtably open more doors for scientific research, space exploration, and more.
We posted a line from a Coldplay song on our Facebook Page earlier that says, “If you never try you’ll never know.” And it’s true — we’ll never know what’s possible unless we’re willing to take the risk and make a move. Or, in this case, take a leap.
Granted, most of us will never ride a hot air balloon to the edge of space and break the speed of sound. However, we all have the opportunity to do some crazy things. To break the norm. To do things that defy logic. And honestly, it’s usually those few, crazy decisions we make, sometimes without realizing it, that set the path for great things in our life. All we have to do is be willing to take the leap.
So what about you? What’s one of the craziest things you’ve done in your lifetime? A bungee jump? A marathon? Moving around the world to study in Chicago?
Tell us the craziest thing you’ve done by leaving a comment below. We’d love to hear your story and be inspired by your courage!  We’ll randomly select one of you to get a $50 Starbucks gift card.
And note: if you your stories are too crazy, we may need photographic or video proof! 🙂

  1. I took a roadtrip from South Florida to Chicago to Washington DC and back to South Florida without a map. This was a few years ago when we didn’t have smart phones! It was quite an adventure, especially when I get really lost! 🙂

  2. This past May, I went stormchasing! Yes, as in TORNADOS! In a matter of 7 days, we drove from Oklahoma City to the Mexican Border to the Canadian border and back to Oklahoma City looking for storms – all the while driving through hail, heavy rain, and winds.

  3. When I was in London during the Olympics, I visited Abbey Road with my friends. We didn’t realize this is probably one of the busiest streets, with plenty of oncoming traffic. We were determined to take a picture of that iconic Beatles picture, so we ran out in traffic to take it! :O

  4. On spring break in panama beach my husbands friends (drunkenly) locked my husband out of his hotel at 4 am and since he had lost his phone and couldn’t get in the lobby he (drunkenly) climbed adjacent balconies to the 8th floor and slept on his deck. Real Liam Neeson type of stuff!!

  5. When I was studying abroad in China, my friends and I decided to go to Thailand for a week long vacation. When we got there, we decided to rent a car in Bangkok and drive 15 hours overnight to the southern tip of Thailand (Phuket). About 7 hours into the drive we saw a road block (I must remind you, there are no street lights in the Thai countryside). We decided to drive around the road block because there were no otherways to get back on the road. After about 1/4 mile we found ourselves stuck in a mud bath in the middle of the road. We were stuck in the middle of Thailand and had to walk 10 miles before we saw anyone. Obviously, the first person we saw didn’t speak one word of English. Oh what a night!
