Bristol Renaissance Faire

Chicago summers are jammed packed with things to do! From PPM pool parties at 750 North Rush all the way up to 1111 North Dearborn Air and Water Show. Who can forget Lollapalooza and of course, the enormous amount of neighborhood festivals. It’s no wonder Chicago is one of the best cities to enjoy summer in. That being said, there are some pretty cool things you can do that are just in arms reach of the city, and one such event is what we are going to talk about today.

The Bristol Renaissance Faire! Chicago’s Lords and Ladies are invited every weekend this summer to drink, joist and party like its 1455! Not only is this faire located right by Six Flags Great America, it’s a one way shot up the highway to join in on the fun. So we at PPM put on our Knights armor and rode up to this year’s faire, and glad we did. Here is everything you need to know about this year’s Bristol Renaissance Faire, Huzzah!

Location/Dates

The faire starts in July and runs until September. They are open Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday through September 4th. 10:00am until 7:00pm.

Prices and Tickets

Ticket prices are $25.95 for Adults. $11.50 for Children. Children 4 and under are always free. The admission includes all entertainment, the Jousts, parades, spectacles, basically everything that is not a shop you can enjoy with admissions!

Activates and Events

This place is huge, really big and with it countless activities to see. There are musicians playing around every corner, dancers spinning on side paths, and the Queens Joust. Shops, food and off course plenty o’drink with a pub crawl to boot. There are also themed weekends that you don’t want to miss.

Cosplay

Dressing up is one of the best parts of the faire. Step in the shoes of a knight from the 1400’s or create your own crazy steampunk outfit. The sky is the limit and the Renaissance Faire not only allows it but recommends you dress in are favorite garb.

Travel

Getting there by car is quite simple, just take 94 north until you hit the border of Wisconsin, it’s literally right there! If you don’t have a car, we recommend Zipcar.

We think our pictures are enough to entice even the most noob faire goers, to give Bristol a try this summer. It’s just such a fun, unique and crazy experience were the crowd is as fun as the live actors. You even may meet some of your favorite Game of Thornes characters to!
