One of these affordable facets of local culture is the acclaimed Belmont Theatre District. In addition to such legendary playhouses as The Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater…Chicago is well-renowned for it’s vast storefront theaters. Though the production budgets may dwindle in comparison to the downtown juggernauts, the work is undeniably on-par with Chicago’s reputation as *the* destination for theatre-goers.

Theater Wit Right

Formerly known simply as “The Theatre Building”, Stage 773 has quite a history for housing many of the premiere storefront companies and mid-size productions. Complete with four spaces of varied sizes/capacities, Stage 773 is often home to such well-renowned companies as Porchlight Music Theatre and Timeline Theatre Company…not to mention, Stage 773 annually hosts the ever-popular SketchFest! 1225 W. Red Tape Theatre
Dedicated to new and experimental work, Red Tape is on the forefront of the Chicago Fringe Scene. Located on the East end of Lakeview, Red Tape is currently in it’s 10th season. 621 W. Belmont 773.244.0968
The Laugh Factory

The Playground Theater
