Are You Ready To LOL?

Chicago has long been renowned as one of the world’s premier forums for improvisational comedy, with Second City always leading the pack.  This week, Chi-Town plays emcee to some of the best improv groups from across the globe as it hosts the 14th Annual Chicago Improv Festival.  Improv ensembles from 8 countries and 32 cities have converged upon our fine city to share jokes, props and plenty of laughs as they tackle the theme “Exploring Improv’s Edge.”  The event kicked off last night and runs all week long at several venues across the city, with 95 shows in all – most of them taking place this weekend April 28-30.
With tickets ranging from just $5 to $15, you can bust a gut without even putting a dent in your wallet!  Even better, many of the host theatres are located right in Lakeview, just steps from our Planned Property apartment buildings!
Here are some of the local theatres hosting CIF events this week:
The Playground – 3209 N. Halsted Ave.
IO Theater – 3541 N. Clark St.
ComedySportz – 929 W. Belmont Ave.
Second Stage Theatre – 3408 N. Sheffield Ave.
Athenaeum Theatre – 2936 N. Southport Ave.
Apollo Theatre – 2540 N. Lincoln Ave.
Second City – 1618 N. Wells St.
The full schedule, as well as information about tickets and performing acts, is available at
